BVCG Task Programme – Aug-Oct 17 pdf
Please note earlier start this week, 9.15am at Acle Library or 9.45am at Winterton beach car park,. The walk from the car park to the site where we’ll be working is about 2km. Sturdy boots should be ok. There are toilets opposite the car park.
Meet at the end of the car park by the huts. If you arrive a bit late, walk along the dune ridge and as you look down you should be able to spot us. John White from Natural England will meet us at the ponds to talk about the tasks and conservation aspects.
Three ponds need weeding to improve the environment for natterjack toads. We’ll need to do this carefully so as not to damage the butyl liner, and as it may be easier to do that kneeling, please bring garden trowels and knee pads.
A different area will have been cut, for us to rake up and barrow to a heap.
We will also have litter picking equipment and loppers for some light duties.
Current volunteers only please.
