This Weds we’ll be at Houghen Plantation to remove (uproot / cut) birch and pine saplings. Houghen Plantation’s about 20 miles from Acle so please car share as much as possible and leave Acle promptly at 9.30am. Meet at 10am Plantation car park, Haveringland Road (1 mile NW of Horsford) Geographical co-ords are:- 052° 43’ 27” N. 001° 14’ 38” E.
From Acle, suggest taking the NDR junction at Postwick, head north to the penultimate roundabout, where you turn right to take the B1149 signposted to Holt. Go through Horsford until you reach the “New Roundabout” (it’s a very small roundabout), turn left down the Haveringland Road. About a quarter mile down, the road bends right, the car park is on the left.
Please bring a garden fork if you have one. A kneeler may be handy. Sturdy boots should be fine but as it might be muddy with wet foliage, you might prefer wellies, and maybe waterproof trousers.
